Vermont recruiter reflects on Army career and 245 years of history

ALBANY, N.Y. — When the first Continental Congress founded the Army in 1775, it was done to protect the original 13 colonies against invasion by the British. The U.S. Army continues to fight to protect Americans from aggressors 245 years later. It does so successfully because of Soldiers who are dedicated and determined to maintain the traditions and roles established all those years ago.

Recruiting and Retention College instructor named TRADOC NCO Instructor of the Year

FORT KNOX, Ky. — For the second year in a row, an instructor from the U.S. Army Recruiting and Retention College has been named the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Noncommissioned Officer Instructor of the Year. Sgt. 1st Class Heather Rankin was announced among the 2020 winners in a TRADOC memorandum May 8.

USAREC resumes in-person processing requirements in some locations

FORT KNOX, Ky. — U.S. Army Recruiting Command is gradually increasing the use of its recruiting stations on a case-by-case basis using a science-based approach to assess risk and evaluate local conditions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Coronavirus has impacted countries, communities and families on a global level and taken many lives. Staff Sgt. Vi Marie Pedro says being 27-years old and in excellent health probably made a difference in her recovery, but she knows just how devastating the virus is for the elderly in our world.
