The Syracuse recruiting battalion is responsible for Army Recruiting Activities that span more than thirty-thousand square miles throughout Upstate New York and Northeastern Pennsylvania: from Potsdam to Stroudsburg - to Binghamton to Jamestown - to Niagara Falls to Rochester.
This battalion has one of the largest assigned missions per recruiter within the U.S. Army Recruiting Command,
To perform our mission, a staff of thirty-four military and civilian personnel works in the battalion headquarters in Syracuse, New York. In addition, more than one-hundred and twenty field recruiters are located at thirty-eight recruiting stations throughout six company geographical areas.
In addition to recruiting enlisted personnel for the U-S Army and U-S Army Reserve, the battalion’s mission includes recruiting for officer candidates and warrant officer flight candidates.
