FORT KNOX, Ky. –
Sgt. 1st Class Edward Compian, a native of San Bernardino, California, serves as a recruiter with the Green Valley recruiting station in Henderson, Nevada.
“I serve in the Army because I believe in protecting my country and it values. I also find fulfillment in serving a greater purpose and making a difference in the lives of others.” Compian said.
Compian joined the U.S. Army as an Infantryman. He was motivated join the Army at a young age. Growing up and experiencing a rough upbringing he knew that he must strive to be better.
“Being in a combat arms job and unit, there is a close brotherhood and tradition.” Said Compian
Some of his future goals would include becoming a Command Sergeant Major and retiring from the United States Army.
While in the Army he has earned his bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership and for the past two years been on of the higher producing recruiters with USAREC.
When not recruiting Compian enjoys camping with family, coaching his daughter’s softball team and training on Close Quarter Combat.
USAREC has provided him a sense of purpose knowing that he can change lives for the better by giving individual stability, direction, and motivation.
