U.S. Army Parachute Team tandem instructor dies in non-duty related jump

On June 12, 2024, Sgt. 1st Class Dominic Perry, a member of the U.S. Army Parachute Team succumbed to injuries he sustained during a non-duty related parachute jump while participating in a civilian-sponsored Canopy Piloting competition in Whiteville, Tenn.

Perry, an Aberdeen, N.C. resident, was an experienced parachutist and served more than four years with the Golden Knights and more than 20 years in the U.S. Army.

"We are profoundly saddened by the loss of our teammate, who served proudly and honorably as a U.S. Army Soldier and uniformed ambassador," Maj. Gen. Johnny Davis, commanding general, U.S. Army Recruiting Command said. "We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends and loved ones."

The Golden Knights will perform demonstrations and events as scheduled. Any exceptions will be communicated directly to the venue.
