Meet your recruiter - Sgt. 1st Class Brooke Millsaps

By Sgt. 1st Class Eric Johnson USAREC Public Affairs

Sgt. 1st Class Brooke Millsaps, a native of Dardanelle, Arkansas, serves as a recruiter with the Columbus Recruiting Battalion in Mason, Ohio.  She was recently recognized by the leadership of USAREC as one of the standout performers in the command.

“I choose to continue to serve in the U.S. Army Reserve because it’s my passion. I truly believe I found my purpose in life when I put on the uniform, and I am forever proud and thankful for the opportunities the Army continues to provide.” Millsaps said.

Millsaps joined the U.S. Army as a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Specialist.  She chose this job because she was told that was the only one available, but later came to love her job and thoroughly enjoyed taking HAZMAT courses and working with the Stryker.

“Working in USAREC has provided me the opportunity to travel to several different states and meet a number of incredible people and leaders. It is also the most rewarding career the Army has to offer – Watching Soldiers you’ve assisted in the process become successful and thrive is incredible.” Said Millsaps

She was motivated to join after dropping out of college and seeing a friend of her who joined the Army and then introduced her to a recruiter.  She signed her contract and two weeks later left for Basic Training.

When not recruiting Millsaps enjoys the outdoors, traveling and spending time with friends and family. She recently discovered a love for white wine and exploring the beautiful city of Cincinnati, Ohio.

“I look forward to having the opportunity to travel more and live in different places across the country/world. I also look forward to making a lasting impact on the organization as I work to become a CSM within USAREC.” Millsaps said.
