CORYDON, Ind. –
Members of the United States Army Third Recruiting Brigade helped honor local Veterans in a community Veteran's Day event held at Corydon Middle and High School in Corydon, Indiana on November 9, 2023.
The event, coordinated by Corydon teacher, Ms. Jennifer Wiseman, and Louisville Recruiting Company Commander, Captain Lloyd Nathan, featured a Color Guard presentation, the reading of Patriotic essays by Corydon Middle School students, recognition of Veterans in the community, and a keynote address delivered by Third Recruiting Brigade Commander Colonel Scott Allen.
During his speech, Colonel Allen expressed his gratitude to both prior and current Military Service members. He described a variety of expanded career opportunities which are now available in the Army, and invited curious young people to speak to a Recruiter or visit the Fort Knox Installation for more information. Col. Allen's parting statements reflected his belief that despite the changes which comes with the Army's growth, the core Values of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage create a timeless bond which unites every generation of Veterans.
