FORT KNOX, Ky. –
Staff Sgt. Christian Rodriguez, a native of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, serves as a healthcare Recruiter with the 5th Medical Recruiting Battalion in San Antonio, Texas. USAREC leadership recently recognized him as a standout performer in the command.
“I have always felt responsible to serve my country and be part of something greater than myself,” Rodriguez said. “I am serving, contributing my part to protect my nation and family, and inspiring future generations to do the same.”
He joined the Army as a dental laboratory technician because he felt responsible to serve his country and be part of something greater than himself. He is the first in his family to serve in the military.
“Working in USAREC as a Healthcare Recruiter, provides me the unique opportunity to work and meet many young students who dream of having a career as a healthcare professional, as well as to motivate and guide them to join the United States Army,” Rodriguez said.
He gets great satisfaction from making a difference in people’s lives and future careers.
When not recruiting, Rodriguez enjoys traveling with his family, playing sports, hiking, and doing home improvements. He hopes to earn his bachelor’s degree in business administration.
“A lot of what I have accomplished in life is because of my wonderful wife,” Rodriguez said. “Despite the difficulties inherent in our dual military status, we are an incredible team. My wife has been my biggest supporter and source of inspiration during my career.”
