FORT KNOX, Ky –
U.S. Army Recruiting Command congratulates its 2019 Civilian Employees of the Year, who were selected from the headquarters and brigade-level winners.
The winners and runners up are as follows:
Organizational Support Employee of the Year: Karen Johnston, secretary, 1st Medical Recruiting Battalion
Program Support Employee of the Year: Andrew Patterson, human resources assistant, New England Battalion
- Runner-up: Jody Karg, human resources assistant, Medical Recruiting Brigade Headquarters
- Other nominees: Fernando Pesina, human resources assistant, Dallas Battalion;
Steven Jones, human resources assistant, Northern California Battalion;
Eric Bulmer, security assistant, Headquarters USAREC G3
Outstanding Program Specialist Employee of the Year: Timothy Musick, information technology specialist, Headquarters USAREC G2
Outstanding Professional Employee of the Year: Robert Staley, Soldier & Family Assistance program manager, 5th Brigade Headquarters
Outstanding Supervisory Employee of the Year: Bruce Gauvey, supervisory human capital specialist, Headquarters USAREC G1
- Runner-up: Alison Tanaka, supervisory human resources specialist, Medical Recruiting Brigade Headquarters
- Other Nominees: Alyssa Salmon, supervisory public affairs specialist, New England Battalion;
Jon Hays, budget officer, 3rd Brigade Headquarters;
Gerald Hogan, supervisory public affairs specialist, Los Angeles Battalion
“Civilians are critical to our mission,” said Maj. Gen. Frank Muth, U.S. Army Recruiting commanding general. “They provide continuity in the command, and we couldn’t do this without their support. Congratulations to the winners and thank you to all our civilian teammates for your hard work and dedication.”
Winners will be formally recognized at the USAREC Annual Soldier and Civilian of the Year recognition ceremony on Oct. 23.
