FORT KNOX, Ken. –
The U.S. Army 3rd Recruiting Brigade welcomed a new senior enlisted leader during a change of responsibility ceremony at Haszard Auditorium on Fort Knox on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024.
During the ceremony, Command Sgt. Maj. Jason Schwartz assumed responsibility for the Soldiers of the “Frontier Brigade” from Command Sgt. Maj. Hilda Garcia. Col. Whitney Jensen, 3rd Brigade Commander, acted as the presiding official for the ceremony.
Garcia departs 3rd Brigade following an illustrious military career spanning over 34 years. During that time, she achieved numerous recognitions and accolades, including induction into the Sgt. Audie Murphy Club, and earning the prestigious Glenn E. Morrell Medallion and Ring.
Schwartz was selected for the 3rd Recruiting Brigade following his most recent successful tour as the Command Sgt. Maj. for the Atlanta Recruiting Battalion. In addition to earning multiple recruiting awards, Schwartz has had several deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Schwartz is the 16th senior noncommissioned officer to lead the 3rd Recruiting Brigade since its activation in October, 1994.
