SAN FRANCISCO –
Two Army recruiters assigned to the Central California Army Recruiting Battalion were awarded the Soldier’s Medal during a ceremony held in San Francisco Nov. 9.
Staff Sgt. Isaiah Locklear and Staff Sgt. Michael Marl received the awards for their actions in helping save injured teens during an active shooter event that took place at the Tanforan Mall in San Bruno, California July 2, 2019.
The two recruiters, surrounded by family, friends and about 60 San Francisco community leaders, had the medals pinned to their uniforms by U.S. Army Recruiting Command Commanding General Maj. Frank Muth.
