Army neuroscientist tests skills, training on COVID frontlines in NYC

FORT KNOX, Ky. — An Army neuroscientist and Mission Support Battalion Soldier is working at the front lines of the COVID-19 response efforts in New York City. Capt. Allison Brager, member of the U.S. Army Warrior Fitness Team, has temporarily been assigned to serve with a team of medical professionals at the Army’s field hospital at the Javits Center.

U.S. Army continues shipping from San Diego

Mission Viejo, Calif. — U.S. Army recruiters in Southern California are using online applications and virtual interviews to help future Soldiers plot a career path, and implementing strict hygiene measures to ensure enlisted Soldiers ship safely to basic training.

“I’m a volunteer firefighter, and I’m having a blast doing what I do,” said Sgt. 1st Class Mark Poczobut, who is currently serving in the Albany Recruiting Battalion.

Up to $40k bonuses available for new cryptologic linguists

FORT KNOX, Ky. — The U.S. Army is seeking qualified individuals who excel at solving puzzles to serve as cryptologic linguists. Interested applicants could receive up to $40,000 in signing bonuses or student loan repayment up to $65,000, depending on the length of the term of service and the training ship date.

Phoenix recruiting medic spearheads battalion COVID-19 efforts

PHOENIX — As the fight to contain the new coronavirus continues, one medic in the Phoenix Recruiting Battalion is doing his part to ensure Soldiers and families in the battalion remain safe from the disease. Sgt. 1st Class Jared Siple, recruiter, Buckeye Recruiting Station, Phoenix West Recruiting Company, is currently serving as the lead medic for the battalion COVID-19 Medical Tracker Team, which oversees both the states of Arizona and New Mexico.

DANVILLE, Va. — In 2018, while serving as an Army recruiter in Tampa, Florida, Davis was encouraged to apply for the Army Bass Anglers team. Accompanied by his trusted Pomeranian, Fox, Davis cruises up and down Virginia and North Carolina in pursuit of calm waters and the perfect catch.

The Fernandez team is assigned to the Hartford Recruiting Company, one of seven in the Albany Recruiting Battalion. They’ve known each other for five years, been married for three, and have managed to get stationed together for every assignment in their Army careers.
