The U.S. Army Recruiting and Retention College pursuing accreditation

USAREC Recruiting and Retention College

The Recruiting and Retention College is taking steps to receive accreditation by the Council on Occupational Education.

The COE has a 48-year history of accrediting occupational programs and is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a reliable authority in determining institutional quality. The COE currently accredits at least 550 post-secondary institutions with approximately 44 of those being federal institutions.

The RRC applied for COE candidacy in July of 2019 and the first evaluation team visit will be on August 26th-27th.  After the visit, COE commission will then vote the RRC into Candidate status, which allows the RRC Dean and Quality Assurance Officer to attend the COE Candidate Academy Part 2 in November 2019. Benefits of accreditation include institutional reviews by an objective and external team of experts, participation in reviews and accreditations of other federal institutions, and being measured against accepted national standards.

The planned RRC COE accreditation visit in May of 2020 is aligned with the next TRADOC Accreditation visit. Once accredited, the RRC will join the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training, Army Medical Department Center and School, Army Logistics University, Army Management Staff College, and others as an accredited institution.

The United States Army Recruiting and Retention College, 1929 Old Ironsides Avenue, Fort Knox KY 40121 is applying to become a candidate for accreditation with the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education.
