Command Sergeant Major Clarence P. Brown III

CSM Clarence P. Brown III is a native of Baltimore, Maryland, and he enlisted in the U.S. Army in June 1999.  He attended basic training and advanced individual training as a heavy wheel vehicle mechanic at Fort Jackson, South Carolina in 1999, and later reclassified as an Intelligence Analyst at Fort Huachuca, Arizona in 2003.   

CSM Brown served as an Heavy Wheel mechanic, All Source Intelligence Analyst, Divison Military Transition Team Inteligence trainer / advisor, Senior Instructor / writer at the United States Army Intelligence Center Of Excellence, Recruiter, Station Commander, First Sergeant, Battalion Operations Sergeant Major, and Command Sergeant Major.

His assignments include Hanau Germany, Fort Hood Texas, Fort Huachuca, Arizona, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Phoenix, Arizona, Iowa City, Iowa, Monterey Bay, California, Fort Bliss, Texas, Indianapolis, Indiana, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and currently assigned as the incoming Command Sergeant Major of the 2nd Recruiting Brigade in Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.

CSM Brown’s military education includes the Basic Leader Course, Advance Leader Course, Basic Intstructor Training Course, the Army Recruiter Course, the Station Commander Course, the Senior Leader Course, the First Sergeant Course, and the Pre-Command Course. He is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy class 67. His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science in Business from Western International University.

CSM Brown’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (3rd award), the Army Commendation Medal (6th award), the Army Achievement Award (4th award), Good Conduct Medal (7th award), National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (5th award), Armed Forces Ribbon, The overseas service ribbon, the Gold Recruiter Badge, the Air Assault Badge, the Combat Action Badge, and the Glen E. Morrell Award for recruiting excellence.

CSM Brown resides in Huntsville, Alabama with his wife and two children.
