New England Battalion Command Sergeant Major

Command Sgt. Maj. Nicholas Fregeau

He has served in a variety of leadership positions including Infantry Team leader, Squad leader, Station Commander for the Woonsocket, Providence, and Glens Falls Recruiting Stations; Senior Guidance Counselor at the Albany MEPS; and the First Sergeant  for the Albany and the North Jersey Recruiting Companies. He recently served as the Albany Recruiting Battalion Operations Sergeant Major.

His previous assignments include 1/18th Infantry Battalion, Schweinfurt, Germany; 1/12th INF Battalion, Fort Carson, Colorado; New England Recruiting Battalion, Kittery, Maine; Albany Recruiting Battalion, Albany, New York; USAREC Headquarters, Fort Knox, Kentucky; and the Mid-Atlantic Recruiting Battalion, Fort Dix, New Jersey.

His Military education includes Warrior Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, Army Recruiter Course, Station Commander’s Course, Army Guidance Counselors Course, and the Recruiting Company Commander First Sergeant Course. CSM Fregeau is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 69) “Be the Difference!”  He has completed his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Maryland University.

Sergeant Major Fregeau’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (5th Award), Army Accommodation Medal (2nd Award), Army Achievement Medal (6th Award), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Superior Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal (7th Award), National Defense Service Medal; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Services Medal; Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 5) and the Army Service Ribbon. He earned the Recruiter Gold Badge, the Glen E. Morrel Award and the Expert Infantryman’s Badge while assigned to 1/18th Infantry Battalion.
