LTC Jin Ha

Lt. Col. Jin Ha is a native of New York City, New York. He commissioned through the Health Professions Scholarship Program in 2002. He received his Bachelor of Science at the State University of New York Albany, Doctor of Optometry at SUNY Optometry and Residency in Family Practice Optometry at Keller Army Community Hospital. He also participated in the Long Term Health Education and Training program, earning a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in health care management and policy at George Washington University. Additionally, he earned his Fellowship at the American Academy of Optometry. Ha’s military education includes the Command and General Staff College, AMEDD Officer Basic and Advanced Course, Combat Casualty Care Course and Working Information Systems to Determine Optimal Management Course.


His past assignments include Assistant Chief of Optometry, Clark Clinic, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Commander, 165th Medical Detachment, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, which deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom; Resident, Keller Army Community Hospital, West Point, New York; Assistant Chief of Optometry, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland; Chief of Optometry, DiLorenzo Clinic, Pentagon, D.C.; Command and General Staff College Resident, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; Master of Business Administration Candidate, George Washington University, Washington, D.C.; Army Branch Chief, Tri-Service Vision Conservation and Readiness Program, Army Public Health Center, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland; Deputy Chief, Monitoring and Field Investigations Division, Army Public Health Center, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland.


Ha’s awards and achievements include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (2 OLCs), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal (2nd Award), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Army Service Ribbon and Overseas Ribbon. He has earned the Expert Field Medical Badge, Army Parachutist Badge and the Air Assault Badge. His unit award includes the Meritorious Unit Citation.
