Lt. Col. Christopher J. Garvin earned a commission in the Air Defense Artillery through the OCS program at Fort Benning, Ga., in 2000. He transferred to the Quartermaster Corps in 2003 with the rank of captain. Prior to commissioning, he enlisted in the Army in 1993, and completed Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning as an Infantryman. He is a native of Nebraska.
Garvin is a graduate of the University of Nebraska, with a degree in Economics. He also earned a Master of Science in Supply Chain and Logistics Management from the University of Kansas. He earned a Master of Military Arts and Science in Theater Operations while attending the School of Advanced Military Studies.
He is a graduate of the Air Defense Artillery Officer Basic Course, the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, Command and General Staff College School of Advanced Military Studies, Theater Logistics Planner, Petroleum Officer, Aerial Delivery Material Officer, Unit Movement Officer, Airload Planner, and TC-AIMS II Courses.
