Sergeant 1st Class Talbott is a native of Buckhannon, WV where she graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School in 1994. She joined the Army one month later and completed Basic Combat Training at Ft Jackson, SC and Advanced Individual Training at Ft Lee, VA as a 92M Mortuary Affairs Specialist. Her first duty assignment was to the United States Army Marksmanship Unit in 1995. After a break in service, Sergeant 1st Class Talbott reenlisted in the Army in 2006 as a 92F Petroleum Supply Specialist. Her later assignments include Fort Bragg, NC, Camp Casey, Korea, and Fort Jackson, SC. In April 2019, Sergeant 1st Class Talbott was once again assigned to the USAMU Service Pistol Section as an instructor/shooter.
Sergeant 1st Class Talbott holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Arts from Excelsior College in Albany, NY. Her military education includes graduating from the Warrior Leader’s Course, Advanced Leader’s Course and Senior Leader’s Course. She is also a graduate from the Sexual Harassment and Assault Response and Prevention Course, Master Resilience Trainer Course, and the Foundation Instructor Facilitator Course. Sergeant 1st Class Talbott is a graduate of the Basic Airborne Course as well as the United States Army Drill Sergeant Academy. She served as a Drill Sergeant for three years at Ft Jackson, SC.
Sergeant 1st Class Talbott’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (2OLC), Army Achievement Medal (5 OLC), Good Conduct Medal (5th award), National Defense Service Medal (1CS), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (2CS), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 3), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (gold), Drill Sergeant Badge, Parachutist Badge, Distinguished Pistol Shot Badge, and the President’s Hundred Tab. In addition, Sergeant 1st Class Talbott is a member of the distinguished Sergeant Audie Murphy Club.
