Sergeant 1st Class Adam Sokolowski

Sergeant 1st Class Adam Sokolowski was born in Somerville, New Jersey.  He joined the Army following graduation from Indian Valley High School.  Sokolowski completed Basic and Infantry Training at Fort Benning in July of 1998.  Upon graduation from Basic Training in March of 1999 he was assigned to the United States Army Marksmanship Unit, Fort Benning.  Sokolowski set in motion a trio of unprecedented Bianchi Cup National Action Pistol Championship victories from 2016-2018.  In 2016 he won the Production Nationals, 2017 Metallic Nationals while also being the first ever to fire a perfect score with iron sights.  In 2018 he won the Open Bianchi Nationals to become the first to win all three divisions consecutively and the second person in history to win all three divisions.

Combat Life Saver, Warrior Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Senior Leaders Course, Total Army Instructor Training, Resilience Course, Hazardous Waste Management Course, and Ammo Handlers Course.

Military Awards:

Awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, 6 Army Commendation Awards, 5 Army Achievement Medals, 2 Army Superior Unit Awards, 7 Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, 3 Non Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbons, Army Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Presidents Hundred Tab, Distinguished Pistol Shot Badge and German Marksmanship Gold Badge.

Education:

A native of Yeagertown, Pa., graduated Indian Valley High School of Lewistown, Pa., in June 1998. NRA Coach Level’s 1-2 Certification. Continuing education at Columbus Technical College, degree plan concentration, Industrial System Technology.   

Assignments:

He joined the Army July 23, 1998, and was assigned to the Marksmanship Unit March 29, 1999, after he completed Basic and Infantry Training at Fort Benning, Ga.
