Staff Sgt. Gabriele Burgholzer

Staff Sgt. Gabriele Burgholzer was born in Steyr, Upper Austria, Austria, and graduated from Secondary College for Agriculture and Food Economics in Linz, Austria, in 2007. She joined the U.S. Army in 2013 and completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Advanced Individual Training for healthcare specialist at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. She was assigned to 36th Area Support Medical Company, 261st Multifunctional Medical Brigade at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where she served as an ambulance aide/driver, emergency care sergeant, and as the plans sergeant for four years. She was then selected to serve as a special operations forces recruiter in May 2017 at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. In February 2019, Brugholzer tried out for the U.S. Army Warrior Fitness Team and has served in the position of a strongman/strongwoman competitor since August 2019.

Burgholzer graduated from the following military schools, Bus Driver Course, Basic Leaders Course, Combatives Level 1, Digital Training Management System Course, Army Recruiter Course, Unit Prevention Leader Course, and Advanced Leaders Course.

Burgholzer's distinguished fitness career began in 2018 when she competed in a bodybuilding competition and placed third in women’s physique. In April 2019, she placed 1st in the Hawaii Fit Expo Strongman competition, and in June 2019 she competed at the Strongman competition “War on the Shore” placing 2nd, which secured her a spot in the Strongman Corps Nationals. There she placed 3rd, earning her Pro Card and qualifying for the Arnold Strongman Competition in March 2020. In November 2019, she took 1st place at Roman & Roman Tampa Bay Strongman competition qualifying for USS Nationals.

Her military awards include the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Driver’s/Mechanic Badge, Basic Recruiter Badge, nine Army Achievement Medals, and three Army Commendation Medals.
