Lt. Col. Terry W. Fry


Lt. Col. Terry W. Fry is from Clay City, Indiana. He enlisted in the Army from Tampa, Florida in 1988 as an Arabic Electronic Warfare/Voice Interceptor. After graduating from the Defense Language Institute he served as a quickfix operator with 24th Infantry Division during DESERT SHIELD/DESERT STORM, then finished his enlisted service as a sergeant first class with 2nd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky in 2001.

He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant, December 2001, upon graduating Officer Candidate School. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in Criminal Justice.

Fry has more than 30 years of total Military Intelligence experience in operational, joint, special operations and strategic assignments. He recently served as the Headquarters, Department of the Army G-8 and G-2 as signals intelligence/electronic warfare/cyber officer. Prior to this position, he served in the G-2 as an executive officer for both the deputy G-2 and plans & integration director from Jan 2014. While stationed at MacDill Air Force Base, Fry served as the deputy J2 for the Special Operations Command-Central Task Force, and J2 intelligence plans officer for the Special Operations Command Central from 2011-2014. From July 2010- Oct 2011, he served as the brigade S2 intelligence officer for 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team during OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM.

His assignments include company commander for both Charlie Company and the Theater Ground SIGINT Company, 715th Military Intelligence Battalion (Hawaii), battalion S2 intelligence officer (Iraq) for 3rd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (A), military intelligence detachment commander for GSC, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), joint intelligence support element officer in charge for the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force-Arabian Peninsula (Iraq), and the intelligence and surveillance platoon leader for Bravo Company, 304th Military Intelligence Battalion, Fort Huachuca, Arizona.

Fry’s military education includes Command and General Staff College, Military Intelligence Basic and Advanced Courses, 35G Signals Intelligence Course, CI/HUMINT Operations Management Course, 35E Counter Intelligence Officer’s Course, Joint Targeting Course, Basic Arabic Course, Syrian Dialect Couse, PLDC, BNCOC and ANCOC, Air Assault School, Airborne School, Jumpmaster School.

Fry is married and has two children.
