Command Sgt. Maj. Corey J. Fairchild


Command Sgt. Maj. Corey J. Fairchild is a native of Harpursville, New York and he enlisted in the Army in November 1997 as a Military Policeman. He attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort McClellan, Alabama.

Command Sergeant Major NCOIC, Drill Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, Detachment Sergeant, Operations Sergeant, First Sergeant, Directorate of Emergency Services (DES) Sergeant Major, and as an Operations Sergeant Major.

His stateside assignments include West Point, New York; Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Fort Hood, Texas; and Fort Bliss, Texas. He has one overseas assignments to Germany and has deployed to Afghanistan and Kosovo for combat and peacekeeping operations.

Fairchild’s military education includes the Combat Lifesaver course, the Warrior Leaders Course, Special Reaction Team Training, Marksman Observer Course, CombativesLevel 1, Advanced Leader Course (Honor Graduate), Drill Sergeant School (Honor Graduate), the Senior Leaders Course, the Master Resilience Trainer course, the First Sergeant Course (Commandants List) and the Sergeants Major Academy Class #66 (Commandants List). His civilian education includes an Associates of Arts Degree from St. Thomas Aquinas College and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Excelsior College (Magna Cum Laude).

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (4thaward), the Army Commendation Medal (4th award), the Army Achievement Medal (12th award), the Good Conduct Medal (6th award), the National Defense Service Medal, the Kosovo Campaign Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon (numeral 4), the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon (numeral 2), the NATO Medal (2nd Award), the Drill Sergeant Badge, the Driver’s Badge, the German Proficiency Badge (Gold), German Marksmanship Award (Silver), and the German FeldjagerBadge (Bronze).

Fairchild earned special recognition as the recipient of the Military Police Order of the Marechausseein Bronze.
