Command Sgt. Maj. Torenzo L. Davis is the Command Sergeant Major for the U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion Columbus.
He is a native of Lynchburg, Virginia. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in December of 1990 as a Human Resource Specialist (71L). He attended Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina.
Davis previous assignments include: Administrative Clerk 71LF5, 115th Postal CO, Kaiserslautern, Germany, S-3 Operations SGT, HHC 3rd Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, S-1 NCOIC, 534th Military Police Company Fort Clayton, Panama, 21st TSB PAC NCOIC, Fort Clayton, Panama and Travel/Processing NCOIC, Albuquerque MEPS, New Mexico. In 2003, he was selected for recruiting duty and assigned to the Chicago Recruiting Battalion in Chicago, IL. From 2003 through 2012 he served as a Recruiter, Center Leader, and Operation’s NCO with duty at the Aurora Recruiting Station, Aurora IL, the 87th Street Recruiting Station and the Pulaski Recruiting Center in Chicago. In 2012 through 2014, CSM Davis served as the 1SG for the Bronx Recruiting Company in New York City Recruiting Battalion. He later served as a Division Chief for the Recruiting and Retention School and NCOIC of the Recruiting Operations Center (ROC), both at Fort Knox, KY.
Davis’ awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (3rd award), the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (4th award), the Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Award (2nd award), Good Conduct Medal (8th award), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (5th award), Armed Forces Ribbon, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Gold Recruiter Badge, the Recruiter Ring, the Glen E. Morrell Award, the Parachutist Badge, and German Jump Wings.
Davis’ civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science from Columbia Southern University and a MBA from Liberty University.
