Cpt. Mary A. Taylor was born in Louisville, KY, and spent her childhood in Selma, AL. After completing high school with an advanced diploma, she attended the University of Alabama, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. In 2020, Mary was selected to attend the Army’s Officer Candidate School (OCS) at Fort Benning, GA, where she was commissioned as a 2LT and designated as a Transportation Officer.
Taylor’s military education includes: Transportation Basic Officer Leaders Course (BOLC), and Logistics Captain’s Career Course (LOGCCC).
Taylor’s previous assignments include: Inland Cargo Transfer Company (ICTC) Platoon Leader in the 7th Transportation Brigade (Expeditionary), Fort Eustis, VA, and Brigade Munitions Officer (BDE S3), 7th Transportation Brigade (Expeditionary), Fort Eustis, VA, where she spearheaded the facilitation of ammunition during the Brigade’s participation in the Gaza mission in the CENTCOM theater.
Taylor’s awards and decorations include: Army Achievement Medal (2 OLC) Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), National Defense Service Medal (NDSM), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal (GWTSM), and the Army Service Ribbon (ASR).
