Sgt. 1st Class Timothy Hamlin

Sgt. 1st Class Timothy Hamlin enlisted in the United States Army in 2012 as an Infantryman. His first assignment was with 1st Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment in Hohenfels, Germany, where he supported training operations as part of the Joint Multinational Readiness Center. He later served with 3rd Cavalry Regiment at Fort Hood, Texas, and 2nd Cavalry Regiment in Vilseck, Germany. During his time in the Infantry, he advanced to the rank of Staff Sergeant, leading Soldiers in both garrison and operational environments. While assigned to 2CR, SFC Hamlin reclassified into the Public Affairs career field, where he leveraged his leadership and field experience to support strategic communications.

He served as the Public Affairs NCOIC for NATO’s enhanced Forward Presence Battle Group in Poland, where he coordinated multinational media operations and joint messaging. He later served with the Defense Media Activity (DMA) Pacific Media Bureau in Hawaii as a broadcast journalist, then as a multimedia producer for Army Production. Most recently, he held the position of Public Affairs Corporate Communications NCOIC at DMA Headquarters, managing internal messaging and social media platforms for the organization. Outside of his military duties, SFC Hamlin applies his media expertise in the civilian sector by volunteering in the music industry and supporting film and television productions. He specializes in drone operations, building and piloting drones for cinematic use in commercial projects.

SFC Hamlin’s awards and decorations include two Joint Service Commendation Medals, two Army Commendation Medals, and eight Army Achievement Medals.
