Spc. Aeriel Skinner was born in Lodi, California and grew up In Jackson, California. She began shooting competitively in high school for Amador County’s local youth shooting team, the A&A Shooters. Upon graduating high school, Skinner moved to Tucson, Arizona where she attended the University of Arizona, earning her bachelor’s degree in psychology while also continuing her competitive shooting career with the college team.
Skinner made her first USA Shooting World Cup Team in 2017 and has continued to make multiple USA Shooting National, World Championship and World Cup Teams ever since.
She joined the U.S. Army in January 2025 and shipped to Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. After completion of Human Resource Specialist Advanced Individual Training in May 2025, Skinner was assigned to the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit Shotgun Team as an Olympic Trap shooter.
