5th Medical Recruiting Battalion Command Sergeant Major

Command Sgt. Maj. Everett Guerra

Command Sgt. Maj. Everett, Guerra was born in San Antonio Texas and entered the Army in 1999 as a Combat Medic. He earned an Associate’s degree in Information Technology from Columbia Southern University and later earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Leader Development from the United States Command and General Staff College.

In 2002, Guerra volunteered for and successfully completed the Special Forces Assessment and Selection Course (SFAS), graduating from the Special Forces Qualification Course (SFQC) in 2004. He was then assigned to Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group Airborne, where he served as a Special Forces Communications Sergeant for Operational Detachment-Alpha (ODA) 753. Guerra then went on to serve as the S-6 Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) for 7th Special Forces Group Airborne, Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force (CJSOTF) in Afghanistan. Guerra has successfully served in various other positions ranging from Special Operations Recruiter, Special Operations RCTG Battalion, Ft. Hood, Texas; Station Commander, Ingram RCTG Station West Company, San Antonio, Texas; Army Senior Guidance Counselor, San Antonio Military Entrance Processing Station; Company First Sergeant, San Antonio West RCTG Company, San Antonio, Texas; Operations Sergeant Major, 3rd Brigade, Minneapolis RCTG Battalion. Guerra has deployed multiple times throughout his career, supporting Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) and the Counter Narcotics Operations in Colombia, Latin America.

Guerra has completed several military courses and schools including the Combat Medical Course, Basic Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Special Force’s Qualification Course, S.E.R.E. (High Risk), Sling Load Inspector Certification Course, Small Unmanned Arial Vehicle Operators Course (RAVEN), Advanced Special Operations Techniques Course, Spanish Language School, Battle Field Spectrum Management Course, Army Recruiter Course, Senior Leaders Course, Center Commander Course, Guidance Counselor Operations Course, Recruiting Commander & 1SG Course, Common Faculty Development Instructor Course, United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, and the Battalion Pre- Command Course.
