5th Medical Recruiting Battalion Command Sergeant Major

Command Sgt. Maj. Kimberly Holness

Command Sergeant Major Kimberly Holness was born in Spanish Town, Jamaica, and entered the Army in 2003 as a Unit Supply Specialist. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Upper Iowa University and later a Master of Business Administration from Post University.

Holness attended BCT at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and AIT in Fort Gregg-Adams, where she was awarded Military Occupational Specialty as a Unit Supply Specialist (92Y). Her previous assignments include the 2nd Infantry Division at Camp Casey, Korea, 16th Engineer Bn in Geisen, Germany, and the 28th Transportation Battalion in Mannheim, Germany, where she deployed on two different occasions in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. 110th Chemical Battalion, where she served as the BN S4 NCOIC JBLM, Washington. Holness was selected to attend the US Army Recruiting Course with duty in the San Antonio Recruiting Battalion at the Forum Recruiting Station in Live Oak, Texas. She later re-classified and awarded the MOS 79R. She held the Station Commander position in Hollywood, FL. Holness was assigned as the First Sergeant of the Lewisville Recruiting Company, Lewisville, Texas, and the Fresno Recruiting Company, Fresno, California. Holness served as the Operations Sergeant Major in Miami, FL.

Holness has completed several military courses and schools including  Senior Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Warrior Leaders Course, Battle Staff, Master Resiliency Course (MRT), Sexual Harassment & Prevention Response Course, Combative Level 2 course, Hazmat Material Certification Course  Substance Abuse/Unit Prevention Leader Course, Army Recruiter Course, Center Commander Course, Recruiting Commander & 1SG Course, Common Faculty Development Instructor Course, United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, and the Battalion Pre- Command Course.

Her awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (3OLC), Army Commendation Medal (5OLC), Army Achievement Medal (5OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal  (4 Combat Stars), Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 4), Army Service Ribbon, Valorous Unit, Overseas Ribbon (Numeral 2), Gold Recruiters badge with 3 Sapphires and the Recruiter Ring.
