Minneapolis Recruiting Battalion Commander

Lt. Col. Justin M. Ducote

Lt. Col. Justin Ducote is originally from Atlanta, GA and received a commission as a Military Police Officer from ROTC at Auburn University in 2005.

As a platoon leader, he was assigned to the 152nd Military Police Company of the Alabama National Guard in Scottsboro, AL and deployed to Ashraf, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). Following that assignment, Ducote was assigned to HHC, 203rd Military Police Battalion and deployed to Basra, Iraq in support OIF as a Police Transition Team (PTT) leader. Upon return from his second deployment, Ducote transferred to active duty and was stationed at Fort Riley, KS. Here, he served as Commander, HHC, 97th Military Police Battalion and Commander, 73rd Military Police Detachment. Upon completion of these assignments, Ducote deployed to Kuwait as the 1st Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade AS3 in support of Operation Inherent Resolve (OIF). Later, Ducote was assigned as the 82nd Airborne Division’s Provost Marshal Operations Officer before transferring to the Civil Affairs Regiment. As a Civil Affairs officer, Ducote was first stationed at Fort Liberty, NC and assigned as a Civil-Military Operations Center (CMOC) Chief for Fox Company, 97th Civil Affairs Battalion (Special Operations) (Airborne) and deployed in support of a Special Operations Joint Task Force to Iraq and Syria in support of OIF. Upon return from this deployment, Ducote served as Commander, Charlie Company, 96th Civil Affairs Battalion (Special Operations) (Airborne); S3, 96th Civil Affairs Battalion (Special Operations) (Airborne); and S37, 95th Civil Affairs Brigade (Special Operations) (Airborne). Ducote was most recently stationed at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, CA and served as a Civil Affairs Observer, Coach / Trainer (OC/T).

Ducote holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology from Auburn University, AL (2005), and a Master of Arts degree in Business and Organizational Security Management from Webster University, MO (2010). His military schools include the Military Police Officer Basic Course, Military Police Captain’s Career Course, Airborne School, Ranger School, Command and General Staff College, and the Civil Affairs Special Warfare Center and School Qualification Course.
He has two combat tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, one combat tour in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, and one operational tour in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. His major awards include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal w/ “c” device, the Army Commendation Medal, the Iraq Campaign medal w/ three campaign stars, the Parachutist Badge and Ranger Tab.
