Indianapolis Recruiting Battalion CSM

Command Sgt. Maj. Robert C. Morehouse

Command Sgt. Maj. Morehouse enlisted in the U.S. Army September 29, 1999, as a 91H (Track Vehicle Repairer). Upon completion of Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, KY, he attended Advanced Individual Training at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD, where he was awarded the MOS 91H.


His duty assignments include 4th Infantry Division Fort Hood Texas, 3rd Infantry Division Fort Stewart, GA, and the Ordnance Center and School Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. 

He volunteered for recruiting duty in December 2007 and has served in the Jacksonville, Tampa, Mid-Atlantic, and Baltimore Recruiting Battalions. He has served as a Detailed Recruiter, Station Commander, Guidance Counselor, First Sergeant, Senior Guidance Counselor, and Operations Sergeant Major.


He is a graduate of all PME to include the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy Class 69. He has also graduated from the Army Recruiter Course, Stations Commander’s Course, Guidance Counselor Operations Course, Army Instructors Course, Army Small Group Instructor Course, Army System Approach to Training Course, the Army Equal Opportunity Leaders Course, Battle Staff, and Master Resiliency Trainer Course. In addition to his military education, he has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration (Cum Laude) and a master's degree with a concentration in Organization Leadership.

His military awards consist of the Meritorious Service Medal (4OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3OLC), Army Achievement Medal (3OLC), Good Conduct Medal (7th award), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal (two bronze service stars), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (5th award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Combat Action Badge, Drivers Badge (wheel and track), Mechanics Badge, and The Order of Samuel Sharpe. He has also earned the USAREC Recruiter Ring for Excellence and the Glen E. Morrell Award.
