USAMU 1st Sergeant

1st Sgt. Gregory I. Krestyn entered the Army in 2004; and attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Benning, Georgia, where he was trained as an Infantryman.

Krestyn has served as a Rifleman, Squad Automatic Rifleman, Fire Team Leader, Squad Leader, Special Forces Underwater Operations School Instructor, Platoon Sergeant, Operations NCO, and Company First Sergeant.

His military education includes Non-Commissioned Officers Education Systems up to and including the Maneuver-Senior Leaders Course. He has completed Airborne School, Ranger Indoctrination Program, Ranger Course, Combat Diver Qualification Course, Combat Diver Supervisor Course, Jumpmaster Course, Pathfinder Course, and Basic Military Freefall Course, Ranger Assessment and Selection Program 2.

His previous assignments include the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment; Charlie Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne); 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment; 2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment.

Krestyn deployed multiple times throughout his career, supporting both Operations Enduring, and Iraqi Freedom.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (3 OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), Army Commendation Medal with V (1 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (4 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (5 Notches), Expert Infantryman Badge, Combat Infantryman Badge, Ranger Tab, Master Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Combat Diver Supervisor Badge, Basic Military Freefall Badge.
