U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit HHD

Sgt. 1st Class Josh Richmond

Sgt. 1st Class Josh Richmond currently serves as the Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment Training NCOIC after a long and distinguished career as an international shotgun shooter with the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit.
He was born in Hillsgrove, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Sullivan County High School. Richmond joined the Army Oct. 25, 2004, and attended One Station Unit Infantry Training at Fort Benning, Georgia. Upon completion, he was assigned to the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit.

Richmond earned the honor of representing the United States of America and the Army in the summer 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games in London, England, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in Men’s Double Trap. He has won multiple World Cup medals in his distinguished career, including six World Cup Gold Medals. He won the World Championship in 2010 and 2014 along with the World Cup Final gold Medal in 2012. In 2011, within a year of going to the Olympics, he deployed to Afghanistan as a marksmanship instructor. 

Richmond has graduated from Warrior Leader Course, and Advanced Leaders Course, and Senior Leader Course.
