Staff Sgt. Nathan Lockwood was born in 1993 in Sodus, New York. He graduated from Pasco County High School in Dade City, Florida in 2011. Lockwood joined the Army when he was 17 years old and graduated OSUT at Fort Benning, GA in 2011.
Lockwood was assigned to the 101st ABN DIV (AASLT) upon completion of OSUT. Lockwood was then chosen to be part the 1-502nd Reconnaissance Platoon where he served for six years. In these six years, he completed numerous training event spanning from Platoon to Division levels and one combat deployment to Afghanistan. In 2017, he was assigned to 2-8 CAV where he was a Bradley fighting vehicle commander. With this unit he went on a nine-month European rotation where he worked with NATO allies in Poland. He was selected to be a part of the Georgia Defense and Readiness Program (GDRP) to train Georgian Sniper and Reconnaissance units. Next, he PCS'd to Fort Benning, GA where he was assigned to Task Force 1-28 3rd INF DIV where he did a two-year stint before being recruited onto the United States Marksmanship Unit
Lockwood has completed Air Assault School, Sniper School, Rappel Master School, Advanced Situational Awareness Course, Basic Leaders Course, Spies and Fries, Advanced Leaders Course, Unit Movement Officers Couse, Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leaders Course,
Lockwood’s awards include the Bronze EIC Rifle Badge, Air Assault badge, Army Achievement Medal, Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terror Medal, and Army Good Conduct Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, NATO Ribbon, Over Seas Service Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Citation, NCO Professional Development Medal, Army Superior Unit Award.
