U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit Command Sergeant Major

Command Sgt. Maj. Mason S. Riepe

Command Sgt. Maj. Mason Riepe entered the Army in 2000; and attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Benning, Georgia, where he was trained as an Infantryman.

Riepe has served as a Rifleman, Fire Team Leader, Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Ranger Instructor, Company First Sergeant, and a Brigade Operations Sergeant Major.

His military education includes all Non-Commissioned Officers Education Systems, culminating with the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy.  He has completed Airborne School, Jumpmaster Course, Reconnaissance Surveillance Leaders Course, Sniper Course, and Advanced Sniper Course. Riepe is currently pursuing his degree in Leadership and Workforce Development.

His previous assignments include the 3rd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment; 5th Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment; 4th Ranger Training Battalion; 2nd Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment; 4th Brigade, 25th Infantry Division (ABN); and the 2nd Brigade, 11th Airborne Division.

Riepe deployed multiple times throughout his career, supporting both Operations Enduring, and Iraqi Freedom.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (3 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), Army Commendation Medal with V, Army Commendation Medal (5 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (7 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (7 Notches), Expert Infantryman Badge, Combat Infantryman Badge, Ranger Tab, Parachutist Badge.
