Ms. Susan Troendle is the Dean, Chief Academic Officer at the US Army Recruiting and Retention College at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Ms. Troendle is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education Degree, Educational Leadership and Administration, from Liberty University. Ms. Troendle has a Master of Arts Degree in Education, Adult Education from East Carolina University, and a Bachelors of Elementary Education from Cameron University.
Ms. Troendle began her federal career in 1987 in the United States Army as a Tactical Circuit Controller. She served in various locations in Germany, supported the 108th Air Defense Brigade, and finally served with the 1st Infantry Division and Operation Desert Shield/Storm. Upon the end of her duty tour, Ms. Troendle returned to school, earning an Associate of Arts and Sciences with High Honors at Saddleback Community College in California and a Bachelors of Elementary Education and Magna Cum Laude from Cameron University, Lawton, Oklahoma. Upon graduation, she taught within the Lawton Public School system in various roles.
From 1998 until 2010, Ms. Troendle was the Chief of Quality Assurance supporting Aberdeen Proving Ground, Ordnance Center and Schools, and the Ordnance Mechanical Maintenance School, where she directed and provided sage and adaptive recommendations, processes, and leadership in the areas of instructional systems, evaluations, and accreditation. Leading the Ordnance Center and School, its subordinate Non-Commission Officer Academy, and remote site training locations to achieve the first TRADOC Center of Excellence with a rating of 99% and 100%. Other accomplishments that the Ordnance Center and Schools under Ms. Troendle were two Department of Education/Council on Occupational Education Accreditations and three American Council on Education evaluation visits. Before Working at the Ordnance Center and Schools, Ms. Troendle served in various capacities as the Director of Training and within Training Development for programs and products supporting the Ordnance Munitions and Electronics Maintenance School and the Field Artillery School. She possessed a wide range of experiences in education and training management, development, and leadership. Prior to assuming the Dean position, Ms. Troendle was by name selected by SCoE/CASCOM senior leadership as the Chief of Training Development Division and as an anchor for the newly designed Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Directorate- now TRADOC Proponent Office (TPO) EOD, supporting the U.S. Army Ordnance Center and School; serving as the core Senior Instructional Systems adviser for the new TPO noted as a TRADOC Best Practice, providing real-time updates, changes, and advances in training materials in days and weeks instead of in months and years.
Ms. Troendle continues life pursuits in memberships with the National Association of Professional Women, Phi Kappa Phi, and Kappa Delta Phi, as well as the treasure and a weekly library volunteer with the Appomattox Regional Library.
