2nd Medical Recruiting Battalion Command Sergeant Major

Command Sgt. Maj. Keith Nowicki

Command Sgt. Maj.  Nowicki is originally from Las Vegas, Nevada. He enlisted into the Army June 1998 and began his military career as an 11B (Infantryman). As an Infantryman, he served in various positions from M240B Machine Gunner to Squad Leader in the 2nd Infantry Division and 25th Infantry Division.

In June 2003, he was selected to attend the Army Recruiting Course and was assigned to the Kansas City Recruiting Battalion, Greater Kansas City Recruiting Company. In 2005 he decided to change his career path and become a permanent member of the Recruiting Command; since then, he has held many positions from Recruiter through Company First Sergeant.

Nowicki has had the distinct pleasure of serving in two of the six Recruiting Brigades in Recruiting Command and has served in the following units: Kansas City Recruiting Battalion (Recruiter and Station Commander); Seattle Recruiting Battalion (Station Commander); the United States Army Recruiting and Retention School (Army Recruiter Course and Station Commander Course Instructor); the 6th Recruiting Brigade Headquarters (Master Trainer and Operations NCOIC), USAREC Training and Accreditation Manager USAREC G3 Training; Tacoma Recruiting Company, Seattle Recruiting Battalion (First Sergeant); United States Army Sergeants Major Academy Class 70; Portland Recruiting Battalion (Operations Sergeant Major).

Nowicki earned selection to the commandant’s list for his academic performance at the Sergeants Major Academy.  He was recognized as the Distinguished Honor Graduate and Distinguished Leadership Awardee for his performance at the Senior Leaders Course, Iron Soldier Awardee at both the Master Trainers Course and the Guidance Counselor Operations Course. He was selected as the Seattle Recruiting Battalion Station Commander of the year 2009, the Everett Area Chamber of Commerce Employee of the year 2009, and various other awards.  While serving as the First Sergeant for the Tacoma Recruiting Company, Nowicki was selected as the 2017 Seattle Battalion First Sergeant of the year and the 6th Recruiting Brigade First Sergeant of the year.  He is a graduate of all levels of the Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development System.

Nowicki’s civilian education includes a Master of Science in Management with a concentration in Organizational Leadership from Excelsior College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Post University.
