Command Sergeant Major Latosha Ravenell is a native of Charleston, South Carolina. She enlisted in the United States Army in February, 1994. After graduating from Basic Combat Training in Fort Jackson, SC, she attended Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee as a 92A; Automated Logistical Specialist.
CSM Ravenell’s previous assignments include the 302nd Forward Support Battalion, Camp Casey, Korea; 4Th Material Management Center (MMC), Fort Hood, TX; 558th Transportation Company; Fort Eustis VA; Houston Recruiting Battalion, Houston, TX; Baltimore Recruiting Battalion, Fort Meade, MD; United States Army Recruiting Command Headquarters, Fort Knox, KY; Solider Support Institute, Fort Jackson, SC; Atlanta Recruiting Battalion, Atlanta, GA; Columbia Recruiting Battalion, Columbia, SC; and Portland Recruiting Battalion, Portland, OR, Salt Lake City Battalion. She is currently serving as the Command Sergeant Major of the New York City Recruiting Battalion, Fort Hamilton, NY.
CSM Ravenell has held numerous leadership positions to include Section Sergeant, Warehouse NCOIC, Recruiter, Center Leader, Instructor, Small Group Leader, USAREC Liaison NCO, Division Chief, Senior Operations NCOIC, First Sergeant and Operations Sergeant Major.
Her military education includes the Warrior Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, Recruiter, First Sergeant Course, Recruiting First Sergeant Course, United States Army Sergeants’ Major Course (Class 41), Lean Six Sigma-Green Belt, Guidance Counselor, Center Leader, Supervisor Development Course, Unit Equal Opportunity Course, Small Group Instructor Training Course, Total Army Instructor Training Course and Middle Manager Course.
Her civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Columbia Southern University.
CSM Ravenell’s military awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Meritorious Unit Citation, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon, the Army Service Ribbon, the Gold Recruiting Badge with three Sapphires, the Recruiter Ring and the Glen E.
