Capt. Rachel Schreiber

Capt. Rachel Schreiber was born and raised in Longmont, Colorado.

She direct commissioned in 2017 after being selected for the Health Professions Scholarship Program and finishing her Doctorate of Optometry at Pacific University. She was previously assigned to Keller Army Community Hospital at West Point, New York. She served there two years as assistant chief of optometry, externship director, officer representative for the USMA Cross Country and Track and Field student athletes, and adjunct faculty for SUNY College of Optometry. She was also selected as a member of the All-Army Cross Country Team and helped them to a first-place finish at the Cross-Country Championships in 2019.

Schreiber has had a distinguished fitness career that began as a four-sport varsity athlete for Longmont High School followed by competing as a collegiate cross country and track and field athlete for Pacific University. She was Pacific’s runner of the year in 2012 and 2013 and qualified for the Cross Country National Championships as an individual. She also qualified for the North-West Conference Track and Field Championships in the 800, 1500, 5000 and 10,000 meters.

Schreiber successfully completed her Fellowship for the American Academy of Optometry in 2018. Her military accomplishments include Air Assault School, German Armed Forces Badge, Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal.
