KANSAS CITY RECRUITING BATTALION
The Kansas City Recruiting Battalion’s area of operation covers approximately 151,540 square miles and includes eight recruiting companies covering Kansas, Missouri and Southern Illinois. With companies in two major metropolitan areas, and other mid-size cities like Manhattan, Wichita, Cape Girardeau, Columbia and Springfield, there's always something going on. Kansas City is known for its great quality of life. The city boasts pro and college sports, an international airport, great tourist attractions, and restaurants. Moreover, Kansas City is home of the best barbecue and blues music in the world. St. Louis is also home to NFL, NHL and Major League Baseball and boasts a number of major attractions including the 630 foot Gateway Arch. Forest Park, home of the 1904 World’s Fair and Summer Olympic Games, features 1,300 acres of lakes, walking paths and attractions. Ft. Leavenworth is 25 miles to the northwest of Kansas City. The installation has all the facilities of any military installation. Other Army installations in the battalion's AO include Ft. Riley, Kansas and Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri.
