Indianapolis Recruiting Battalion Welcome Packet

Welcome packets will be sent to you from your assigned Recruiting Company.  If you do not receive yours or have had no contact with your assigned Company 30 days prior to your arrival, contact the Battalion S-1 at 317-549-4923/1944.

Below is a welcome letter from the Battalion Command Sergeant Major.

Dear New Recruiter Team Member,

Congratulations on your assignment to United States Army Recruiting Battalion, Indianapolis, Indiana.  As your Command Sergeant Major, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your Family as the newest members to our team.

Effective sponsorship is critical to our success as an organization; it is essential that you and your assigned sponsor take the time necessary to settle and integrate yourself and your Family into the command and the local community.  We realize that once you arrive, you will be in a hurry to get to work; additionally, your station will be anxious to put you to work.  However, rushing through the process and not taking the appropriate time to take care of personal and Family needs will only hurt you, your Family, and the command in the long run.

We must ensure that as you are in-processing with this Battalion and your new Company, your Family gets integrated into the Company and the USAREC Family Readiness Group as well.  Again, proper sponsorship is important and is a priority to both the Battalion Commander and myself, so if you have not received pinpoint assignment instructions, a welcome packet, and sponsor from your Station within two weeks from my letter, please let the S1 know immediately.  The S-1 staff can be reached at (317) 549-1923 or (317) 549-4924.

If this is your first assignment with USAREC, you will find your experience extremely challenging and rewarding.  I expect Leaders to know, practice, and enforce the standards, not only in their workplace, but everywhere and at all times.  I expect Soldiers to know, understand and comply with established standards regardless of the situation.

You must report to the Indianapolis Recruiting Battalion, 9142 Kent Avenue, Building 401-C, Indianapolis, Indiana to in-process before reporting to your company for recruiting station of assignment.  In closing, this is an exciting time to be a member of this winning team, and you should be as excited as I am about the journey ahead….again, welcome, and I look forward to serving with you.
