Finding your way to Fort Hamilton
Fort Hamilton is located on the Southwest tip of Brooklyn at the base of the Verranzano-Narrows Bridge.
From Brooklyn via New Jersey
From South Jersey – Take the New Jersey Turnpike North to Exit 13 (Elizabeth). Stay to the left and take the Gothels Bridge to Staten Island, New York. After paying the toll, stay on Route 278E towards the Verranzano-Narrows Bridge. Take the Verranzano-Narrows Bridge and stay to the right, exit at the first exit 92nd street. Turn left at the traffic light and go the second traffic light, which is Fort Hamilton Parkway (FHP). Turn left onto FHP. Follow to the main gate, which will be on your left at 101st street.
From New Jersey
Take the New Jersey Turnpike South to Exit 13 and follow the directions as above.
Entering Brooklyn via Public Transportation
By Subway. Take the R Train to its last stop in Brooklyn at 95th street. Walk seven blocks to Fort Hamilton Parkway and 101st street, or take a taxi/car service.
By Bus
The New York City Transit Metro Bus System is extensive, with the bus stops within the installation. For more information on bus and subway transportation, please call (718) 333-1234.
