FORT BENNING, Ga. – In an April 2019 photo, a U.S. Army Infantry mortar crew competes at Fort Benning against other mortar teams from across the Army in the Best Mortar Competition, part of the prestigious annual Infantry Week. This year's Infantry Week runs April 14-20 and comprises four separate competitions: the Best Mortar Competition, the All Army Lacerda Cup Combatives Competition, the International Sniper Competition, and the Best Ranger Competition. Infantry Week is known for its exacting standards and often grueling physical demands, in which competitors vie under high-pressure, combat-like conditions for best-in-their-field honors. The public is invited to attend.
