Sgt. 1st Class Glenn Eller

Assistant Team Chief

Sgt. 1st Class Glenn Eller was born in Katy, Texas, and graduated from James E. Taylor High School in 2000. He continued his education at Auburn University of Auburn, Alabama, and the University of Houston of Houston, Texas. He joined the Army in 2006 and completed basic and infantry training at Fort Benning, Georgia. He was assigned to the USAMU and the shotgun team in January 2007 as a shooter/instructor.


Eller has a distinguished shooting career and is one of a handful of shooters who has won a gold medal at every major international stage in Men’s Double Trap. He won a
gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and has competed in five Olympic Games. He has also won gold medals at the World Championships (2), World Cup Final (2),
World Cup (6), Pan American Games, and Championships of the Americas in addition to seven U.S. National titles. In 2016, Eller won a bronze medal at the Rio de Janeiro World Cup and finished 14th at the Olympic Games. He was named USA Shooting’s Athlete of the Year in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2008 and 2013. In 2012, Eller deployed to Afghanistan with the USAMU as a marksmanship instructor.

Eller has graduated from Maneuver Senior Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Warrior Leader Course, Comprehensive Soldier Fitness, Advanced Situational
Awareness Course, and Combat Life Saver.
