WELCOME TO THE PORTLAND RECRUITING BATTALION

Who We Serve

The Portland Recruiting Battalion consists of five recruiting Companies (Eugene, Vancouver, Mt. Hood, Honolulu, and Guam Companies) and 35 stations, servicing Southwest Washington, Oregon, and the Asia Pacific areas. Our dedicated Recruiters play a vital role in maintaining the Army's strength by attracting motivated individuals to serve.

Mission Statement

We are a team of professionals focused on mission accomplishment by recruiting the Army’s best and brightest: Soldiers we want to lead, train, and empower to win this nation’s wars. We prioritize taking care of Soldiers, Civilians, Recruits, Families, and ourselves.

Mass soldier swear-in ceremony in American Samoa

The sound of a traditional Samoan song of service filled the air, sung by 33 young men and women as they marched into the Army Reserve Center in Pago Pago, American Samoa on September 10, 2025, to take the Oath of Enlistment, solidifying their commitment to serve in the U.S. Army.

Staff Sgt. Gage Smith, a native of Wilmington, Ohio, serves as a Recruiter at the Mililani Recruiting Station in Wahiawa, Hawaii. He was recently recognized by the leadership of U.S. Army Recruiting Command as one of the standout performers in the command.
