FORT KNOX, Ky –
U.S. Army Recruiting Command’s personnel office is actively working to assist recruiters adversely impacted by a recent temporary deferment of orders.
U.S. Army Human Resources Command recently deferred the report date by 60 days for recruiters preparing to transition to a new assignment in order to meet a January 15, 2019, deadline to fill USAREC’s ranks to 100 percent.
While the report date has changed for transitioning Soldiers, their future assignment will remain the same, unless they volunteer to extend with USAREC for an additional 12 months.
“My personnel staff is working directly with our impacted recruiters on a case-by-case basis to ensure this action does not cause any Soldier or family undue hardship,” said Maj. Gen. Frank Muth, USAREC commanding general. “If a recruiter is already in transit to another assignment and does not wish to volunteer to stay with USAREC for another year, we are going to make sure they can continue that move.”
Recruiters who need immediate assistance based on their circumstances should contact USAREC G1 staff members at (502) 626-1913, (502) 626-1056 or (502) 626-0457.
For deferred Soldiers who do not need immediate assistance, USAREC will use personnel channels to distribute information no later than Nov. 16 on how to accept or decline the current incentive being offered for the 12-month voluntary extension.
