Essentials of Emergency Medicine 2018

6th Medical Recruiting Battalion Commander, Lt. Col. Matthew Mapes passes the Los Angeles Medical Recruiting Company Guidon to incoming commander, Capt. David O'hea on 11 May. Los Angeles MRC held their ceremony on the USS Iowa at the Port of Los Angeles welcomed O'hea while saying farewell to outgoing commander, Capt. Shawn Linhares.

Los Angeles Medical Recruiting Company conducts Change of Command Ceremony

LOS ANGELES — Capt. David O'Hea took command of the Los Angeles Medical Recruiting Company on 11 May in a Change of Command Ceremony on the USS Iowa at the Port of Los Angeles. Lt. Col. Matthew Mapes, 6th Medical Recruiting Battalion commander, presided over the ceremony to transfer command from the outgoing commander, Capt. Shawn Linhares to O'Hea.

Trauma, Critical Care & Acute Care Surgery 2018

LAS VEGAS — U.S. Army health care recruiters explained the benefits of a career in Army Medicine to attendees of the Trauma, Critical Care & Acute Care Surgery Conference at Caesars Palace on 10 April in Las Vegas, Nev. Soldiers and Army Civilians from the 6th Medical Recruiting Battalion and Las Vegas and Aurora Medical Recruiting Stations were on hand to discuss the Army's more than 80 medical specialties for both active duty and reserve opportunities.

Major Michael Hay, officer-in-charge of the 6th Medical Recruiting Battalion’s Phoenix Medical Recruiting Station demonstrates why a tourniquet is not appropriate for small children using Harper Magoteaux’s arm. Hay and other medical professionals provided free public training at Maricopa Integrated Health System’s Auditorium as part of National Stop the Bleed Day on March 31.

Phoenix Medical Recruiting Station participates in Stop the Bleed Events

PHOENIX, Ariz. — Soldiers from the U.S. Army’s Phoenix Medical Recruiting Station, along with regional medical professionals, trained local residents in Stop the Bleed events held here on March 31.

Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Mapes, commander of the 6th Medical Recruiting Battalion, discusses the medical recruiting mission with Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army, Dr. Randy Groth. Groth attended the unit's situational awareness brief along with U.S. Army Recruiting Command's Deputy Commanding General of Operations, Brigadier General Kevin Vereen during the DCG-O's visit to the Phoenix Medical Recruiting Station.
