Command Sergeant Major Todd Crofoot is a native of Boonville, NY, and he enlisted in the U.S. Army in September 1993 as a Combat Engineer MOS 12B. He attended basic training and advanced individual training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri in 1993.
Crofoot served as an Armored Combat Earthmover (ACE) operator, an engineer squad member, team leader, and a squad leader as a combat engineer. CSM Crofoot has also served as a recruiter (Greece Recruiting Station), Center Commander (Henrietta Recruiting Station and Rochester Main Recruiting Station), First Sergeant (Burlington Recruiting Company, Pittsburgh Recruiting Company, Tacoma Recruiting Company, and Seattle Recruiting Company), Operations Sergeant Major (Seattle Recruiting Battalion), Assistant Director of the Non-residents Sergeants Major Course (United States Army Sergeants Major Academy), and Battalion Command Sergeant Major (Seattle Recruiting Battalion 2012-14) and Houston Recruiting Battalion (2016-2018.) CSM Crofoot just turn over Command Sergeant Major responsibilities in January after serving as the Battalion Command Sergeant Major of the Raleigh Recruiting BN from March 2018 to January 2020.
His assignments include Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Schweinfurt, Germany; Fort Carson, Colorado; Rochester, New York; Syracuse, New York; Burlington, Vermont; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Tacoma, Washington; Seattle, Washington; Fort Bliss, Texas; Houston, Texas; Raleigh, North Carolina and now Fort Knox, KY.
Military education includes the Combat Engineer Basic Course, Warrior Leader Course, Advance Leader Course, the Army Recruiter Course, the Center Commander Course, Senior Leader Course, and the First Sergeant Course. He is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy class 65 on the Commandants List. His civilian education includes a Associates of Science degree from Pierce Community College, a Bachelor of Science from Grantham University (Summa Cum Laude), and a Master's of Art in Leadership Studies from The University of Texas-El Paso.
Awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (7th award), the Army Commendation Medal (6th award), the Army Achievement Award (13th award), Good Conduct Medal (8th award), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (5th award), Armed Forces Ribbon, the Gold Recruiter Badge with 3 Sapphires, and German Proficiency Award (GOLD). CSM Crofoot also has been awarded the Recruiting Excellence Medallion, Glenn E. Morrel Medallion, and the Recruiting Ring.
Crofoot resides in Kentucky with his wife of 26 years, Angela, his 20-year old daughter Kaley, 17-year old daughter, Kaitlyn, and his 14 year old daughter, Karlie. Angela and CSM Crofoot also have another daughter that resides in Rochester, NY, 27 year old, Kendra.
