Milwaukee Recruiting Battalion Commander

Lt. Col. Renee E. Ramsey

Lt. Col. Renee Ramsey, a native of Orchard Park, NY, graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Law. After commissioning and training as a Second Lieutenant in the Military Police Corps, she was assigned as a Platoon Leader with the 560th Military Police Company, 95th Military Police Battalion in Mannheim, Germany. She later transferred to the 272nd Military Police Company to train and deploy a platoon to Torkham, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

After redeploying, Ramsey was assigned to the Captains Career Course in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Following graduation, she remained at the US Army Military Police School (USAMPS) to stand-up a new course to train future mentors of Afghanistan Security Forces. She was then selected to command Echo Company, 795th Military Police Battalion.  After command, she served as Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General of Fort Leonard Wood and the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence. Ramsey deployed with the commanding general and assumed a new role as the Executive Officer to the Deputy Commanding General of Army Central Command (ARCENT), Third Army. She followed on to assume a role in the J4 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in Baghdad, Iraq.

After redeployment, she returned to USAMPS to serve as a Small Group Leader for the MP Basic Officer Leader Course (BOLC) before relocating to Cambridge, MA to attend the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University where she earned a master's in public policy degree with a concentration on International and Global Affairs. Following graduation in 2013, she taught International Relations in the Social Sciences Department at West Point for three years.

Ramsey was next assigned to Fort Myer, VA to serve as Executive Officer for Washington CID Battalion, 3rd Military Police Group (CID) until her selection to command a forward deployed CID task force. In 2018, she returned to the CENTCOM AOR to serve as Commander, Task Force Justice. Upon redeployment, she attended the FBI National Academy (Session 275) in Quantico, VA. Following graduation, she was reassigned to Joint Base Lewis- McChord, WA where she served as the Deputy Commander for 6th Military Police Group (CID). Lieutenant Colonel Ramsey is currently serving as the Commander of Milwaukee Recruiting Battalion, 3rd Brigade, United States Army Recruiting Command.
