Staff Sgt. Patrick Sunderman

Staff Sgt. Patrick Sunderman was born in Farmington, Minnesota, and graduated from Farmington High School in 2012. He joined the West Virginia Army National Guard in August 2012 and completed basic and artillery training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He then attended West Virginia University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sport and exercise psychology in May 2016.

He enlisted on active duty in June 2016 and was assigned to the USAMU International Team as a shooter/instructor.
Sunderman has had a distinguished shooting career before joining the Army and was a four time NCAA National Champion (2013-2016) with the West Virginia University rifle team.

His military schools include: Distinguished Honor Graduate, AIT Artillery (2013); Combat Lifesaver Course (2015).
