Command Sgt. Maj. Ulises Morel is a native of Bronx, New York. He began his career in the Army November 1999, enlisting as a 14S Airborne Avenger Crewmember from the New York City Recruiting Battalion. He completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill Oklahoma, Advance Individual Training at Fort Bliss, Texas, and Airborne School at Fort Benning, Georgia.
He has served in a variety of positions and assignments to include 3-4 ADAR, 82nd Airborne Division, where he served as an Avenger Team Leader and participated in Operation Enduring Freedom. He then reclassified to 11B Infantry and was assigned to 1-504 PIR, where he served as a Team Leader and Squad Leader and participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2004, he was assigned to the United States Army Recruiting Command where he’s served as a Recruiter in the Yonkers Recruiting Station; Station Commander for the Fordham Rd Recruiting Station, Westchester SQ Recruiting Station, and Polk Recruiting Station; Company First Sergeant for the Bronx Recruiting Company, and Toledo Recruiting Company, Operations Sergeant Major for the New York City Recruiting Battalion, and the Command Sergeant Major for the Tampa Recruiting Battalion.
His military education includes Basic Leaders Course, Army Recruiter Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Station Commander Course, Senior Leaders Course, Recruiting Company Commander First Sergeant Course, and United States Army Sergeants Major Course Class 69.
Morel holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Post University and Master of Science in Management from Excelsior College.
His awards and decorations include three Meritorious Service Medals, three Army Commendation Medals, three Army Achievement Medals, Combat Infantry Badge, Army Basic Parachutist Badge, Gold Recruiting Badge with three sapphires, the Gold Recruiting Ring for Excellence, and the Glen E. Morrell order of Recruiting Excellence.
