The Spokane Medical Recruiting Station (MRS) continues to strengthen its ties with Rocky Vista University (RVU) in Billings, Montana. During a recent visit, CPT Nick Belz, Officer-in-Charge of Spokane MRS (9E3K), conducted a commissioning ceremony for four Medical Corps Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP) recipients. Surrounded by family, friends, and classmates, the recipients proudly took the oath of office, marking the start of their service as future Army medical officers.
The event was supported by RVU’s Student Association of Military Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (SAMOPS) club and 2LT Benjamin Polk, an OMS II student and HPSP recipient. Their leadership helped highlight the strong and growing community of HPSP students on campus who are committed to supporting one another and advocating for Army Medicine.
In addition to the ceremony, CPT Belz’s two-day visit to RVU generated significant recruiting momentum. Spokane MRS secured 14 leads and two ATPs for FY26. The RVU community has consistently demonstrated a deep interest in Army Medicine, with current HPSP students referring qualified applicants who are eager to follow in their footsteps.
